kampiiblack | 27.12.2020 | 1 | 237 INSIDER with Kampii , LATEST TRACKS , Music

Hello readers, thanks for logging on to our website to check out this little piece we managed to put together for you to digest. Coming up with this list was very tough due to the fact that lots of amazing collaborations came out of Cameroon this 2020. although it was tough we still managed to get these few titles for you. Bare in mind the list below was not ranked in any order although the two top spots definitely deserved their place.

10. SALUTE BY MISTER ELAD FT CLEO GRAE.

Coming at number 10 is Salute by Mr Elad and Cleo Grae. most would ask why this song has been included in our top 2020 collaborations although the extract from Mr Elad’s “Pikin fo Headmaster” E.P did not hit Cameroon’s mainstream market. well, the answer could not be simpler. Salute is a masterpiece which passes across an amazing message to not just the Cameroonian the society (preaches love) but to the world on a soft beat, amazing vocals from Mr Elad and Cleo Grae, as usual, did not disappoint as he gave his best on his verse.

SALUTE  has over 25 thousand views and counting on YouTube.

If you haven’t listened to SALUTE check it out.

9. AMIN BY TZY PANCHAK FT KAMENI AND STANLEY ENOW.

When it comes to collaborations Blu Nation’s Tzy Panchak has proven to always serve us nothing but gold. So it should not come as a surprise that he features on this list. His collaboration with MAMA winner Stanley Enow and 2020 revelation of the year Kameni in AMIN can be described as the cry of a struggling child who faces lots of criticism. Kameni and Stanley Enow’s verse just came in to cement the level of authenticity this track carries. Produced by Young OG and directed by one of Cameroon’s finest Mr Adrenaline.

AMIN currently has over 300 thousand views and counting on YouTube.

Check out AMIN.

8. FOWL BY TARON X FT ZAMARLEY.

Last time we heard from rapper Taron X was about 8 years ago with his diss song Ndon fo kwat aimed at rapper Jovi. So it came at a surprise to many when he resurfaced in January 2020 with a street banger like Fowl and had many thinking he was a new artist. Fowl is an anthem in Cameroon, especially in the English speaking regions. It was an exciting way to start 2020 with all the chaos it came with. If we were to describe fowl in one word it would be “REAL” why? because the track gives you a birds-eye view into the ghetto/ mboko lifestyle with its fictional character Richard being the centre of attraction.

Taron X and Zamarley collaborated on this track like they were linked together by blood. Fowl currently has over 300 thousand views and counting on YouTube.

Check FOWL out.

7. MY WAY REMIX BY STANLEY ENOW FT DIAMOND PLATNUMZ AND ARIEL SHENEY

My way remix is actually a blend of Cameroon, Cote D’ivoire & Tanzania. Although it wasn’t accepted by most Cameroonians like the original which featured Locko and Tzy Panchak, My Way remix deserves to be considered one of the best collaborations from 237 in 2020 ever since it was released in January. With heavyweights like Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Ariel Sheney from Ivory Coast jumping on KING KONG’S remix definitely made it one to listen coupled with the fact that the original was already a hit which made it easier for the remix to follow in same faith.

My Way is produced by Soft Touch and directed by one of Africa’s best Dr Nkeng Stephens.

6. GHANA MUST GO BY KO C FT KIKOH, BANYE, CLEO GRAE AND KING KUM

Not necessarily the hottest rap song out of Cameroon this 2020 but amongst one of the hottest rap collaborations to come out of Cameroon this 2020 is Ghana Must Go. The project which is spearheaded by PowerHouse frontline artist KO C featured verses from Kikoh, Cleo Grae, King Kum and Banye whom all did great jobs with their verses plus Ko C’s voice on the hook and chorus. The video which is categorized as entertaining by some was criticized by others due to the message it passed out. Either way, the song is still a banger and one you will definitely enjoy watching.

GHANA MUST GO is produced by Mr Behi, Directed by Mouphasa F. and currently has over 300 thousand views on YouTube.

5. Tchombe BY AFROBIT PRODUCTIONS

Although this track has faced zero success in the English section of Cameroon, Afrobit Productions came along with a mega-hit this 2020 which dropped in March with verses from Martins, Queen sparks, Dimy vibz and Sabrina which is the first official title from the Production house and it actually opened its doors to many opportunities.
The song which currently has over 3 Million views on YouTube shook the French-speaking sector of Cameroon and is a melody to be savoured without moderation.

4. BE PROUD BY WITTY MINSTREL FT MAGASCO, MR. LEO, VERNYUY TINA, AWU, KAMENI, GASHA.

It is needless mentioning Be Proud’s original version was a success and it empowered Cameroonians and Africans all over the world to be proud of their culture and where they come from, Witty Minstrel for this remix brought in some big names Magasco, Vernyuy Tina, Awu, Kameni, Gasha and Mr. Leo to support him and spice up the cultural hit with beautiful verses and voices on the Remix. The original video faced some criticism but the remix definitely portrayed the culture of North Westerners.

Be Proud was produced by Kovapot & Wasse, mixed and mastered by Dijay Karl. The video was directed by Dr Nkeng Stephens assisted by Bobe Nkwain Chiambah.

3. NJOH BY FHISH FT LONGUE LONGUE.

Probably considered as one of the most anticipated video releases of this year, NJOH made super mega wave once it dropped in FHISH‘s I AM CAMEROON E.P. If you haven’t listened to NJOH yet, then I’m sure you have been living under a rock because it has been banging on every street. Njoh in question actually made wave due to its level of originality, it was purely Cameroonian and FHISH got to bring along legend Longue Longue who came and cemented the authenticity of this hit.

Ask any Cameroonian and you shall be told how much Fhish is talented and although his collaboration with Longue Longue has bagged over 500 thousand views on YouTube, we believe it merits a spot on our list.

We definitely kept the best for last because the next two collaborations we are about to mention can be considered as collaborations of the year in Cameroon due to their level of success in the music market both online and offline. Some of you already know the tracks we are about to mention because it is evident. Without further ado …

2. NYANG NYANG BY MAGASCO FT LADY PONCE.

Afro Njang meets Bikutsi! “Nyang Nyang” is a local Cameroonian term which could be translated to “New New” in English. Nyang Nyang’s original version came from Magasco‘s fifth single from his 20 track “Heart” album, the 1st solo studio album by Magasco under his label BBoy Records. The queen of bikutsi, Lady Ponce hoped in on the remix with Magasco and they made something awesome.

The way both artists managed to blend two cultures into one on a beat and made it inevitable to love the track. Nyang Nyang is produced by Master Roboster and currently has over 900 thousand views on YouTube.

1. CALECON BY KO C FT COCO ARGENTEE.
If you should ask any Cameroonian what collaboration is trending as we speak, they’ll tell you it’s no doubt Ko-c‘s Caleçon. If you live in the francophone or Anglophone zones of Cameroon, you will notice that this collaboration with Coco Argentée is a street banger.
Why ?? We’ll tell you why. Sure it featured some big names in the industry like Steve Fah, Fingon Tralala, Cabrel Nanjip all appearing in the video, and was also produced by one of our finest producers Phill Bill which may all have contributed to the project’s success. But what gets people the most on this record is the ton “Caleçon fait quoi chez moi” Phrase, his dance moves in the song, the beat and above all the storyline.
If you didn’t know, know now that the above-mentioned phrase was once used by bikutsi singer Racine Sagath back in the ’90s on a track of his which was also a major hit back then and now even. Ko c came along and added some Power House magic to it and it birth Caleçon, a collaboration with Coco Argentee. Rumours have it that bikutsi singer Mani Bella was Ko C’s first choice but due to some issues, Coco Argentee was the one who made it to the final cut. Calecon currently has over 4.3 Million views and counting on YouTube.
