Lionel Messi’s new move to Inter Miami has caused the club’s following on Instagram to soar.
Before news broke of Messi’s deal, Inter Miami had around one million followers on Instagram.
Now that news of the Argentinian football great joining the team is official, the club’s IG page has reached 7.3 million followers, as of Saturday afternoon.
It comes as no surprise that Messi would bring over such a large social media presence because the 35-year-old is the second-most followed person with 469 million followers on Instagram.
Fellow soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo holds the No. 1 spot with 588 million followers.
