Cameroon has been honoured once more as Samuel Eto’o, one of the most decorated players in world football, has been named Global Ambassador for the Qatar2022 FIFA World Cup.
He joins the Supreme Committee as the second Global Ambassador after Spanish FIFA World Cup winner and ex Barcelona team mate Xavi Hernandez.
Eto’o will assist and support the committee in the delivery and implementation of a number of its initiatives to deliver an outstanding FIFA World Cup and ensure the legacy of the competition is long-lasting and far-reaching.
In August 2018 he joined QNB Stars League side Qatar Sports Club and made a new home for himself in the host country of the next FIFA World Cup – and during a special signing ceremony with SC Secretary General Hassan Al Thawadi, officially became part of the journey on the road to 2022.
