It has been a week of fun, shots, tweets, arguments all geared towards self-made rapper Jovi who produces, mixes master, and writes his tracks and that of his signees. Reasons why Jovi did not release his track with Wizkid.
Jovi has been on the lips of fans both tweeter and Facebook, first for his top 10 rappers in Africa he posted, slutting Ghanaian OG Sarkodie in the 10th position. This caused havoc in the Ghanian camp who replied to the list with shots, calling Jovi clout chaser. This eventually led to a point the New bell music CEO had to reply to a Sarkodie fan with the fact that he’s greater than Sarkodie and has done a collabo with those bigger than the Sarkcess Music CEO, one being Wizkid.
This collabo came as a reminder to Cameroonians who have been getting rumors of that collab. Jovi haters criticized the rapper for propaganda. Jovi had two wars to fight with a single track, this pushed Jovi to clear the air yesterday Friday at 7 Pm when he previewed his collabo with Wizkid and made some revelations, and finally a hint of an unreleased track. Below is the reason his collab with Wizkid wasn’t and a summary of his live session yesterday.
Jovi made mention of the fact that he produced a beat 8years ago, it was a good beat, and back then he was just from signing Reniss. She had just a single and she had to jump on the beat titled “Holy water”. By then, he was working with Cameroonian who hails from Bamenda Fontema Mba of Jump Africa. Fontema who had a partnership with Akon’s label Konvict music approached Jovi to sign him. Is through this medium that jovi produced a beat for Akon. Fontema worked with other great artists like sean paul and Wizkid. On an occasion, Wizkid got the “Holy water” beat jumped on it and Jovi also dropped his bars which was quite okay.
But Jovi who is a man of his word, integrity had given that song to his signee Reniss and also, he was bothered how he was going to be introduced to the world like an Afro-pop Artist. He wanted something that will represent his identity to showcase to the world. This is why he said ” if an international artist jump on songs that represent Cameroon like ou meme, he will drop it any day any time”
During the live Jovi called on Cameroonians to support Fontema Mba who owns Jump Africa designed to ship books, assistance to less privileged to Africa.
Jovi thanked Mboko Gang for the support calling Mboko Gang spear headers like @shey Eugene @pius berry @la mirage @Agu Ransome and wish birthday to @fifty years and that’s how Jovi ended his live Session.
