The following of French club, Paris-Saint Germain on Instagram has dropped by over 2 million, just a few days after it was officially announced that Lionel Messi was leaving the club.

Messi ended his 2 year contract with PSG by playing a match against Clermont, where they lost 3-2 at home.
It was announced prior to the game that Messi will be leaving the club after his contract expires this summer.
At the time of the announcement, the club’s following on Instagram was 70.4 million. It dropped to 69.9m by the time PSG started Saturday’s match. It further dropped to 68.9m by Sunday evening.
This Tuesday morning, the following has further dropped to 68.3 million.
That means PSG has lost a total of 2.1 million followers since the announcement(70.4m – 68.3m).

Messi could be set to join Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia this summer, after receiving a contract offer from Al-Hilal that would make the Argentina captain the highest-paid player in soccer history.
