Popular Nollywood actor and film director Saint Obi (Obinna Nwafor) has died after battling with an undisclosed illness.

The news of the actor’s demise, who reportedly died almost a week ago at his sister’s home in Plateau state’s capital city of Jos, was only confirmed to the media today by Saint Obi’s colleagues.

Saint Obi, famously known for his role in blockbuster movies including ‘The Royal Palace’ ‘Candle Light’, ‘Goodbye Tomorrow’, ‘More than a woman’, ‘Common Game’ passed away last week Sunday and the actor’s body was subsequently deposited in a morgue at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH). However, the news was not made known to the public, reportedly because of family squabbles.

He died at the age of 57.

Saint Obi was reportedly treating an undisclosed illness and had visited hospitals for treatment for months before he passed away on Sunday.

Saint Obi, came into the acting scene in 1996 after doing a commercial for Peugeot on NTA and went on to feature in more than 100 movies.
