Mercy Chinwo and Husband Welcome First Baby
Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, welcomed their first child on Friday, October 27, 2023. The couple announced the happy news on their social media pages, sharing photos of Mercy’s baby bump and their newborn.
“Our heart is filled with joy and gratitude,” Mercy wrote in a caption on Instagram. “God has blessed us with a precious gift.”
The couple has not yet revealed the name or gender of their child, but they have been met with an outpouring of love and support from fans and fellow celebrities.
“Congratulations to my dear sister and brother,” wrote fellow gospel singer Ada Ehi. “May God bless your new bundle of joy.”
“So happy for you both,” added singer and actress Simi. “Welcome to the world, little one!”
Mercy and Blessed tied the knot in August 2022, and announced their pregnancy in April 2023. Mercy has continued to perform and release music throughout her pregnancy, and she is currently working on a new album.
Chinwo is one of the most popular gospel singers in Nigeria and Africa. She is known for her powerful vocals and upbeat songs, which often feature messages of hope and faith. She has won numerous awards for her music, including the Best Gospel Song of the Year award at the Headies Awards in 2018.
