Kampii’s Man Crush for April 2023

Our Man or Woman crush for the month spotlights and celebrates an individual in the Showbiz industry who stood out and excelled exceptionally in their craft that month.

Our Man Crush for the month of April 2023 is Cameroonian Legendary Film maker and founder of the Cameroon International Film Festival, Agbor Gilbert Ebot (AGE).

What spectacular did AGE do in April that won him our Man Crush for the month? He brought magic to the entertainment industry by staging a star-studded 2023 edition of the Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF); an event that showcased the vibrant film culture in Cameroon.

CAMIFF 2023 brought together film makers, actors and guests from Cameroon, Nigeria, Egypt, Botswana and beyond, with the aim of inspiring them and nurturing the growth of the Cameroon and Africa Film industry through masterclasses and workshops.

One thing that stood tall with CAMIFF this year was the display of elegance and fashion on the red carpet. We saw a display of fashion like never before, with local entertainers stunning in glamorous and never before seen outfits.

It was also an opportunity for Cameroonians to discover some talented fashion icons who went extra miles to make these entertainers and guests look good.

And of course, we thank AGE and his team for putting all these together.
Agbor Gilbert Ebot hails from Mamfe, in the Manyu division of the South West Region of Cameroon. He first began his movie career, helping as a production assistant in 2003, when he met Fred Amata, Olu Jacobs and Rita Dominic shooting a movie in Calabar.

In 2005, AGE went on to produced his own movie entitled “Before the Sun Rise” featuring Nigerian Legendary movie stars Olu Jacobs, Dakore Egbuson, Jack Orji and Fred Amata. He equally produced movies like “The Blues Kingdom”, “Pink Poison”, “The Land of Shadows” and “Far”.

In 2015, AGE launched what has today become not just the biggest festival but the biggest event in the entire English-Speaking Cameroon.

Today, CAMIFF offers the Cameroonian audience a means of engaging with their own and other cultures through the art of CINEMA. It has also become a window that allows Africa and the entire world to gauge and discover the pulse of recent Cameroon and African films.

Congratulations to AGE – Our Man Crush for April 2023.
