Gambia and Comoros make it to their first-ever AFCON.

Matches on the fifth day of play in the ongoing AFCON 2022 qualifications were played across Africa where we saw clashes like Cameroon vs Cape Verde, the Gambia vs Angola Comoros vs Kenya, and many other matches. Gambia and Comoros make it to their first-ever AFCON.

Gambia and Comoros carried the day with their first-ever qualification ls to the prestigious African Cup of Nations competition. Gambia used a 1-0 against Angola to picked up a ticket for the AFCON.

 

FC Zurich forward Assan Ceesay scored the winning goal for Gambia against Angola in this encounter for them to get the ticket even though they still have a match to finish the qualifiers.

Comoros which ranked is 130 in FIFA ranking, shocked Africans after avoided being beaten in their all 5 games. Comoros will be participating in the 33rd edition of AFCON next year in Cameroon. Their victory could not be ignored as CAF joined in their celebration on Twitter. 

Other countries that have already booked their spots at the next edition of the championship are host country Cameroon, defending champions Algeria, Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Gambia, Morocco, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Congo, Tunisia, and Equatorial Guinea. Meanwhile, South Africa will need at least a draw against Sudan before they can participate in the 33rd edition of the competition staging in Cameroon next year.

In other news, Cameroon was beaten by Cape Verde in yesterday outing 3-1. The host still tops their group with 3pionts above her subordinate. Anticipate our next article on this. Don’t forget to subscribe.
