FECAFOOT Ordered To Pay 379M FCFA To Former Indomitable Lions Coaches Seedorf And Kluivert For Breach Of Contract
The Belgian duo who took over the management of the Cameroon National Team in August 2018 was sacked in July 2019 by the minister of Sports and physical education, Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi. Their unceremonious removal from the team came on the heels of a rather very disappointing 2019 AFCON performance. The defending champions of the prestigious tournament could not go past the eight-finals.
Their sack came at a time when they both still had six months before the end of their contract, though they were paid an additional two months salary. That to Seedorf and Kluivert wasn’t enough considering they were unlawfully dismissed.
According to kick442.com, both coaches requested to be paid close to a billion FCFA but with Cameroon’s arguments on the issue, FIFA has now ruled that Clearance Seedorf be paid 206 Million FCFA while Patrick Kluivert receives 191 Million FCFA. A total of 397 million FCFA is expected to cover the rest of their six months contract with Cameroon and penalty for delay in payments.
FIFA has also ordered that the total amount be paid to the claimant within 30 days as from the notification of the decision.
