Cross Dresser Shakiro Sentenced To Prison For Homosexuality.
Cameroonian popular crossdresser, Djeukam Loi Midrel, known on social media as Shakiro Diamond Yonce or Shakiro 237 has been arrested and locked up at the Douala New Bell Prison for practicing homosexuality, an act which is totally banned in Cameroon. He was sentenced alongside two other young men who were found guilty of the same crime by the Ndokotti Court of First Instance.
This is not the first time Shakiro has been arrested. Recall that in 2020, Shakiro was arrested by the Cameroonian police for allegedly practicing homosexuality. At the time, Shakiro denied the accusations, stressing that he is just an internet comedian and who he is, is just a personality he created. His parents pleaded on his behalf and the charges were later dropped and he was released.
However, the Ndokotti Court of First Instance found him and two others guilty of homosexuality on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, and sentenced them to the dreaded Douala New Bell Prison.
Shakiro is not new to controversy in Cameroon. A sex tape of him sucking the penis of a man went viral some months back and most recently, he shared a baby bump photo of himself. This got Cameroonians wondering if he was pregnant. Apparently, he was never pregnant, judging from the photos of his arrest. All that was for the gram.
Article 347-1 of the Cameroon Penal Code prohibits sexual relations with a person of the same sex with a penalty of between six months to five years imprisonment, as well as a fine of CFA francs 20,000 to 200,000.
