Cameroonian Makossa Icon Nkotti Francois Is Dead

One of the most celebrated icons of Makossa music in Cameroon, Nkotti Francois is no more.

The Makossa Legend passed away this Wednesday at the Douala General Hospital at the age of 70.

The co-founder of the “Black Styls” will be remembered for keeping Cameroonians entertained with 50 years of non-stop authentic Makossa. His songs were replayed a million times in cabarets, bars, homes and other places across different cities in Cameroon.

He was popular for several hit songs including “Langwa” and “Ye Te Mbe”

He was also the Organiser of  one of Cameroon’s most popular Trade Fairs – FOMARIC.

Many fans and artists have taken to social media to mourn the fallen icon including the famous Makossa duo X-Maleya.

Nkotti Francois was lastly seen in a music project with Cameroon’s rap sensation, Mic Monsta.

Though gone, his music will surely continue to inspire many young artists.
