The seaside resort city, Kribi in the South region of Cameroon has been chosen to host The Mother of Humanity monument, which is going to be the tallest monument in Africa. Cameroon To House The Tallest Monument In Africa.
The monument is offered to the world by the American people, according to the charity foundation Act of Random Kindness (ARK) Jammers Connection, which is the author of the initiative. It is also a gift from the people of the United States of America to Africa, to thank them for their outstanding and incredible contribution to the construction of the world as well as the efforts they have put in to ease tensions and promote peace in the world.
The boundary of the 80 hectares land where the 313 feet, 97m tall pan African monument will be erected was recently demarcated by authorities in charge, and the construction plan presented to the public by the Minister of Arts and Culture, Pierre Ismael Bidoung Kpwatt.
The monument will be made up of 29 floors, surrounded by 54 cultural houses, representing all the 54 African countries.
The monument which is sculpted by the American artist, Nijel Binns will be built in the figure of an Africa woman standing elegantly, holding a feather of peace in her right hand, while her left-hand stretches out to welcome all.
The Mother of Humanity monument is estimated to cost $200 million which is approximately 100 billion FCFA.
