Boys Who Insulted The President Of Cameroon Slammed A 1 Year Jail Term And Fine Of 500K FCFA. A boy who s insulted the President of Cameroon, H.E Paul Biya has been slammed a one-year jail term and a fine of 500,000 FCFA, together with his two friends.
They were arrested after filming a video that went viral on social media, in which they openely insulted the President.
The three boys, Bonda Ytembe Clement, Wameni Andre Boris and Kamoue Wouve Flavy were accused accused of insulting the President and his government as well as propagating the insults.
The sentenced was handed down this Thursday by the Mbanga first of Court Instance.
Their sentence has spurred reactions from social media users who have compared the scenerio in France where a boy was recently sentenced to a 1 month jail term for slapping the President of France.
“Man slap President for France, dem give four month in jail… that mean say if these boys dems for slap na slap president, ei for dey na how?”
“And that one who slapped the President has just 4 months in prison. Life no balance at all.”
Others have also wondered how they will be able to raise the 500,000 FCFA, considering they allegely work at a company that pays them just 32000 FCFA monthly.
