In the statement shared on the official Facebook page of Biggy 237 this Monday, April 5, 2021, the organizers noted that Mr. Cyril Akonteh was dismissed since February 2021 for certain acts and omissions of the former manager which have so far been contrary and inconsistent with the intent, beliefs, objectives and perspectives of Biggy 237.
They also added that any act or document furnished in whatever form, format and/or medium signed by Cyril Akonteh as manager of Biggy 237 is null and void. Biggy 237 Managing Director, Cyril Akonteh Dismissed
Recall that in a live video in October 2020, the Public Relations Officer of Biggy 237, Yvette Brudy, accused Cyril Akonteh of mismanagement, embezzlement, and rigging of votes. According to Brudy, the former managing director collected money from unqualified contestants to bring them to the Biggy 237 house, switched votes of some housemates, and spent millions meant for the show on personal bills. Cyril Akonteh however fired back in a statement, calling the allegations baseless, unfounded, and an outrageous smear campaign against his person, seeking to injure his hard-earned reputation.
It is not clear if the management of the show investigated these allegations but what is clear is that Cyril Akonteh is no longer part of the team.
Fans are hopeful that this will pave a way for a new, bigger and better season of the show. Biggy 237, a Cameroonian reality tv show aimed at nurturing talents and inspiring hope to young Cameroonians, and also bringing Anglophone Cameroonians and Francophone Cameroonians together, is expected to return for a second season in the months ahead. According to the organizers, the second season of the show will be dubbed “The Revolution.” Biggy 237 Managing Director, Cyril Akonteh Dismissed
