Barcelona threatens legal actions against players who rebel against wage cuts

FC Barcelona has threatened legal actions against its own players who have kicked against wage cuts in the team.

Is no longer news that Barcelona is going through financial crisis in handling the upcoming season. The management is ready to take their players to court to compel them accept wage cuts in order to manage the crisis.

La Liga president Javier Tebas warned Barcelona that if the club does not reduce their wage bill, they might be unable to register their new signings Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero, and Eric Garcia.

Reports say, Argentina superstar, Lionel Messi has agreed to accept a huge wage cut to sustain a long-term contract with the club. But Lionel Messi’s wage cut is not enough for the Galatians who have asked other players to sign a wage cut agreement.

From the look of events, other major players in the club are playing hard to get. According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is now willing to drag some of the players to court to fight it out on the issue of wage cuts.

The exact legal action Barca will take against the players is not outlined in the report, making it unclear whether the club will actually triumph if they involve the law.
