Three of Cameroon’s most prolific players will unfortunately miss the upcoming AFCON qualifier double encounter against Namibia.

These players are, the AFCON 2021 Top goal scorer, Vincent Aboubakar, Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxime Choupo Moting and Deepender and prolific defender Fai Collins.

Choupo Moting and Fai Collins, are reportedly suffering from some injuries and this will likely keep them away from the game for a short while.

And of course, Vincent Aboubakar was yellow carded when he took off his shirt to celebrate his goal against Brazil during the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

As a result of this, Emmanuel Mahop from Canon Sportif of Yaounde and Thomas Etta Bawak from PWD Bamenda, have been called up by Coach Rigobert Song, to replace Choupo Moting and Fai Collins, respectively.

Emmanuel Mahop is the current top scorer in the ongoing Elite 1 Championship with 10 goals.

28 year old right-back, Thomas Bawak will sure count on his experience from impressive performances with PWD, to defend the National colours.

Bawak

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will face the Brave Warriors of Namibia this Friday, Mach 24th at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium at 8:30 pm.

They are by far the better side on paper but with the absence of some of their most performing players, can the Indomitable Lions roar against the Brave Warriors in both encounters?

And of course, we can’t wait to see what value Bawak and Mahop will bring to the team.
