Cameroonian Upcoming artiste Pele has taken his love for Cameroonian ace rapper and CEO Stanley Enow and his record label, Mother Land Empire to a whole different level as he recently tattooed the logo of the label on his leg.
The crooner of the “Kosala” hit track shared the photo of his new tattoo on Facebook with the following caption “We go Support till the end, keep voting for Stanley Enow.”
Most music lovers in Cameroon have welcomed Pele’s gesture with mixed reactions. While some of them think the gesture is worth applauding, given that the logo itself carries deep motherly African ideology and it is Pele’s business if he chooses to do whatever he wants on his leg, others simply think it is just a means of getting attention and popularity. To this second set of people, “it may just end in tears” for him. What if he regrets his decision later, how would he take off the tattoo?
Motherland Empire is one of the biggest record labels in Cameroon. It is co-owned by one of Cameroon’s greatest rappers of all time, Stanley Enow. The label which was created over 8 years ago has in recent times been criticized for not bringing in new artistes and helping them grow in the industry. However, Stanley has recently corrected that by bringing a few upcoming artistes into the label such as Daicko who left the label in 2020 anyway.
Pele’s gesture may not make sense to a lot of people but it may actually make a lot of sense to him as an artiste. This is one of the biggest record label in the country. Who knows? He may just end up getting signed as a new act at Motherland empire as many have predicted. And even better, imagine a collaboration with Stanley Enow and Pele! That could happen and that would be because of his love for the label and Stanley Enow.
Besides, it’s said that “there’s no greater gesture of love than having someone’s name tattooed on your body.”
