On July 24th 2020 young versatile cameroonian rapper Tenor broke the internet with amazing news alongside a press release announcing his new deal with Def Jam Recordings Francophone.
Def Jam recording is a label which was founded in the United States of America back in 1984 but today have decided to expand to Africa in Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Senegal. Alongside Tenor, other acts like Suspect 95 and Omzo Daffer put pen to paper too.
It’s no surprise Tenor got signed to Def Jam recordings, he is one of the best Cameroon and Africa have to offer when it comes to rap.
Tenor’s struggle to find a label to call home has been a rollercoaster as this is the young rapper’s 3rd label after being under War Machine and Universal Music.
Tenor’s stay at UMA was a little bumpy and had lots of fans and media personalities complaining of not seeing enough of the “Bad things” hit maker. We hope his switch to Def Jam Recordings bears better fruits as time unfolds.
